Nestlé Japan is taking a creative and eco-friendly step by changing its KitKat packaging from plastic to recyclable paper. But that’s not all—each wrapper comes with instructions to fold it into an origami crane, adding a fun twist to sustainability!
This initiative started in late 2019 and was fully rolled out by 2021, helping to cut down about 380 tons of plastic waste each year. It’s part of Nestlé’s global goal to make all its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025.
By encouraging consumers to turn their wrappers into origami, KitKat is giving its packaging a second life while raising awareness about plastic waste. It’s a simple yet innovative way to make sustainability more engaging!
